Chapter 8 ~ the corporate strategy

The corporate strategy versus the business strategy~

okay, i am going to explain about the corporate and business strategy..

Corporate strategy

It was an interesting topic to be learned generally. The thing that I understand about the corporate strategy is the situation when an organization continuously has to transform them to remain growing in today’s fast changing business environment. However, being strategically responsive is not a simple task for today’s leading companies and long lasting period of industry association. The business leaders must revisit their organizational portfolio periodically to decide what will continue to be their main focus or competency and what to do with non-core businesses.

Besides, corporate strategy not only comprises choosing the right plan for growth today, but also ensuring that the company can quickly react to the future competitive environments.

Business strategy

A good business plan is just the first topic and can soon become out-dated. However, making poor investment decisions and focusing on the wrong product or service could mean a long term disadvantage or even a directly disqualified from the race. More important than ever companies need to prudently put their assets to use to successfully competes in today’s tough market conditions.

# There are specific areas where we can add value for the corporate strategy  that include:

Ø  Developing corporate portfolio strategy
Ø  Identifying strategic partners for joint venture, partnering on product development and merger or acquisition
Ø  Spin-off or sale of non-core business units
Ø  Outlining organizational structures to improve efficiency and agility
Ø  Creating and redefining business plans
Ø  Designing market entry strategies
Ø  Organizational and specific business unit benchmarks

all in all, it is all about the strategy.. ^^
